Karen Carter, M. Ed, MD is a general pediatrician who is board certified in developmental medicine. Karen attended medical school and completed her pediatric training at Medical College of Georgia. She completed a fellowship in developmental medicine at Emory University. She also has her Masters in Education and was a special education teacher for 14 years. She is an active volunteer for Special Olympics Georgia and has been involved with the American Association of Adapted Sports Programs.
Myranda Bates, Office Assistant has been working with Augusta Developmental Specialists since August 2011. She has been a CNA for over two years. She is currently attending Augusta State University. Her younger brother, Justyn, who is autistic and the light of her life, is her motivation for becoming a nurse and working here. Myranda grew up on Oahu, Hawaii and enjoys Hula/Tahitian dancing. Myranda looks forward to coming to the clinic everyday seeing smiling familiar faces and interacting with our patients and their families.
Jenny Craig, CMA has worked with Karen since 2013. She graduated from the Augusta Tech Medical Assisting Program in December 2013. Along with her fiance, Justin, she enjoys watching her 2 daughters, Karly and Hayden, and 1 son, Bryson, play and grow. Jenny absolutely loves working with our amazing miracle children and adults each day.
Amber Prickett, Front Desk began working with us in December 2015. She graduated from the Augusta Tech Medical Assistance Program in 2013. She enjoys spending time with her husband and their 3 daughters, Payton, Kayden, and Kyhlee. Amber enjoys working with our patients because they are so sweet.
Kevin Enright, CTRS is a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist. Kevin is better known throughout the area as Karen Carter's husband. He has over 25 years experience working with persons with disabilities. In addition to being able to provide recreation therapy at Augusta Developmental Specialists, he is our patient advocate, Office Manager, handy man, etc. He often works in the office answering phones or assisting where ever needed. He has been a head coach with Special Olympics Georgia since 1995.
Emily Dressler, Speech Therapist has been a therapist since 2009 after graduating from Valdosta State University with a Masters in Communication Sciences and Disorders. She enjoys working with the kids and seeing all the progress they make. Away from work, she enjoys her two dogs, Sammy & BlackJack. She also enjoys hanging out with her nephews and nieces, camping, running, crafting, and sports.
Carol Collica, Physical Therapist has been working with Karen since 2013. Carol has been a physical therapist for over 20 years. She likes working with our brave and sweet special kids. She enjoys spending time with her son, Ethan, and her 2 dogs, Sonny and Graylyn.
